Fossils of Texas

A Journey

April 5th, 2008, hunted another area of the North Sulphur River. I found a small mosasaur vert
which was badly weathered. I did find an ammonite that I really like, pictured below. Also, I found a nice
fish vert.

First I am posting a pic of Mike and Shirley that were nice enough to share their spot with us. They are overlooking
the river.

The ammonite I found in the red zone at the river.

My fish vert and small mosasaur vert pictured below

Lance's jaw he found, most cool!

Lance walking the banks. Places were extremely muddy.

North Sulphur River

Sunday, February 24th, 2008,  Wes, Lance, and I headed for a hunt on the Sulphur.

We all found some cool stuff!

A really large vert that I found. My best find.
Pictured in situ.  It's a plesiosaur vertebrae, probably an elasmosaur from the proportions.
Note the two nutritive foramina (openings) in the ventral side as shown in the first picture...
The dorsal processes have been broken off..
